The Daily Dime: "Tavern"

They made the kind of conversation you would not have been able to repeat back seconds later. He didn't care why her foot was broken. She didn't care what his tattoos meant. They both agreed the music was too loud. Shouting over old school tunes to be polite in a completely forgettable conversation was not the ideal way to spend one's Wednesday night.

The bar had gotten darker since he'd last paid attention to the lights. It didn't matter much anyway; the sea of bodies between him and the door were as indistinguishable from each other as discerning waves in the moonlight. There was some mention of a possible "transvestite" but he was too aloof to notice. A girl walked by with hips as narrow as her knees. He noticed.
