As some of you may know, I got married recently. There was a lot of lead-up to that and a lot of excitement afterward but I am still kind of upset at myself for how little writing I've been doing lately (in any capacity). Perhaps it was the warm weather; a lot of the prolific authors I read blogs of seemed to take most of the summer off, too (cough cough Gabe). Hopefully things will get back into swing soon.
Just think, this month last year I was finishing the first draft of Novel #1 (now tentatively named Prophecy of Darkness). I really wish I'd received a response on it but it looks like I will have to re-send (through regular post rather than overnight envelope) and hope for the best. Maybe I will do that this week.
I'll be going on a business trip next week and I think that will allow me some reclusive time to reflect and get some writing done. I haven't taken the laptop on my last few airplane rides (for obvious reasons, I hope) and I have still been trying to split my time between PS2 and reading. Currently I'm trying to finish A Cavern of Black Ice, by J.V. Jones. I have a lot of thoughts on it but since I'm not done with it just yet I'll hold them. Maybe I'll post a review when I'm done. We'll see.
This month is also NaNoWriMo and I am most certainly NOT participating this year. I know Gabe and Steve said they were going to but as I have a writing project already in the works I can't really imagine putting it on hold and trying to cram 50,000 words into November while simultaneously enjoying newlywed life. I will, however, look forward to whatever they post and read it with relish.
That's it for now. You should hopefully see more updates from me this month than last month and possibly a word count if I do any work on Novel #2 (tentatively titled Kingdom of Coups).
