Status Update

Yesterday I spent quite a few hours in my favorite writing spot at my local Starbucks guzzling decaf and pounding out words. I finally was able to do what I said I should; I have written out the structure and summarization for the final 6 chapters of the novel and now I just need to actually write them. Then I can feel good about closing the month of April as a success (though it was largely spent not writing) and move on to May with a mind full of editing.

The count right now for the second portion of the novel is just over 67,000 words and I expect it will be closer to 75,000 by the time I'm actually "done" with the last six. Total count of the novel once I'm truly and completely done will hopefully end up between 140,000 and 150,000 words. That's kind of staggering. We'll see what happens between now and the end of May.
